Back to School, Back to Routine, Back to Fitness!

For many of you it’s back to school time for your kids, which means that life returns to a somewhat regular schedule again. This is the perfect time to reassess you and your family’s fitness needs.

Whether you have children or not, fall is an excellent time to try new things and get your fitness routine back on track. Public recreation facilities are an excellent place to find exciting new programs to try at very reasonable rates; MIJO Sport has programs at recreation facilities in Sooke, Colwood, Oak Bay, Comox and Courtenay. Typically you can register for 6, 8 or 12 week sessions, with no contracts and no lengthy committments necessary. This allows you or your kids the opportunity to see if you really like the activity without any pressure.

If you are new to fitness, or returning after some time away from it, try not to overdo it in the beginning; commit to being active 3-4 days per week for 30-40 minutes at time. Easing into it this way will increase your chance of creating a new fitness habit (which on average can take up to 10 weeks) and improve your chances of success!
