Jonathan Carpenter, 5th Dan WTF, BCRPA PT Co-Owner
Jonathan began his career in Taekwondo at age 6, quickly achieving his 1st Poom Black Belt by age 10, at which time he began instructing Taekwondo to both children and adults. Sharing a passion for fitness with sister Michelle, he continued to pursue knowledge and certifications in the field of health and wellness. Today Jonathan is a BCRPA certified Personal Trainer, Medical Exercise Specialist and a Master in Taekwondo. He specializes in post rehabilitation, Popat/Pare preparation, Sport Combat, Teen Fitness, Spin, TRX and much much more. Jonathan teaches classes in the Victoria area.

Stasia Ferbey, 2nd Dan WTF, BSc
Childrens Taekwondo Instructor, FITcamp & BOXfit Instructor in Training
Stasia started training in taekwondo in 2002 as a way to get back into shape. She fell in love with the sport of taekwondo almost immediately and, in her colour belt days, she competed at tournaments in BC and one in Washington State. Training with her classmates under Master Michelle and Instructor Scott was life changing in many ways; she lost 30 pounds and today, fitness is a major part of her life. She obtained her black belt within 5 years of commencing and has been assisting with the junior and senior classes ever since. Stasia is a teacher through in through; she holds a BSc. in Biology and a BCTA teaching certificate for high school science. She loves to share her passion for science by teaching students about the world of astronomy at the observatory in Victoria, BC and on a boat in La Paz, Mexico.

Rick Marchese, 2nd Dan WTF
Instructor Childrens & Adults Taekwondo
Rick has been training with MIJO Taekwondo, under the instruction of Master Michelle Carpenter, for over 8 years. He achieved his 1st Dan Black Belt in 2009. Rick is an integral part of the MIJO Taekwondo Assistant Instructor team and assists regularily in the Children’s Taekwondo programs in Oak Bay. He has also been a Youth Correctional Officer for 22 years (becoming a shift supervisor in 2012) and was a Self Defence Instructor at the Victoria Youth Custody Centre and High Valley Youth Custody Centre. In addition to his Taekwondo training Rick also holds his Black Belt in Goshindo Karate and has trained in this style for over 18 years.
